There were disturbances at Karachi when the polipe were arresting men for picketing the liquor shops. The police were stoned by. a crowd of three thousand. ; “Gandhi Day” , was celebrated throughout the city. The shops were closed. The schools were picketed. , A. boy attempting to hoist the National flag above the Legislative Council was arrested, and the flag was confiscated, .
The police surrounded a house a mile outside .Lqhore., Three ...men.. ran out, firing revolvers. : The .police retaliated, killing one and injuring another. The one killed has been identified as a student suspected of being concerned in an attempt to wreck the Viceroy’s train last year. The Police Commissioner at Karachi and two Sub-Inspectors have been warned to leave the city within a week, or otherwise they, will be killed by bombs.
BOMB FACTORY IN DELHI. i DELHI, , November 5, Police discovered a bomb factory with five hundred bombs, baskets of chemicals and pistols in the House of Kapurchrand Jain in Delhi. Four arrests were made. The police found in Jain’s possession a copy of a pledge enjoining members of > conspiracy to shoot none but policemen. Jain also possessed a list of police all over India. ...
