PARTICULARS OF FUNDLast- week the Hon. E. A. Ransom issued a preliminary statement of the earthquake relief fund from which the following particulars are gleaned:— Statement of Accounts. On the receipts side the statement shows subscriptions amounting to £147,041/6/5 • interest on investments made by Treasury, £l2/16/10; interest on moneys deposited with Public Trustee, £4563/7/3; and credits in reduction of expenditure, £l9/19/9; grand total, £151,637/10/3. Expenditure is shown as follows: Grant to local relief committees, £IOOO.
