Mrs Sen Gupta, the wife ol the ex-Mayor of Calcutta and Indian Congress President was sentenced to four months’ s’rnple 'imprisonment for being a member of an unlawful assembly at New Delhi. •Mrs Bedi and two other promient Nationalists congress workers were sentenced to six months’ and Airs Jairani was fined fifteen pounds sterling,, while twenty-five Gurkhas were sentenced to six months’ for a similar offence at New Delhi.
