APPLICATION REFUSED. (Australian Press Association.) SYDNEY, Nov. 4. An application by “Friends of the Soviet Union” to bold a social and dance in the Town Hall, was refused by tlie City Finance Committee. Alderman J. Garden protested strongly. He said the time will come when tve will give a similar refusal to all people who make application for like purposes, and I don’t care whether it is to entertain the Duke of York or anybody else, we will say “no.” ,
