Nov. 2. | The voting Queen Giovanni, of Buij garia, had a- trying, if gratifying; ex- ; pcrien.ce. when she remained standing , far seven consecutive hours while the peasants from all parts of Bulgaria passed and rendered their homage to her. Mu •it of the peasants arrived overnight, filling the streets and squares of Sofia, where they wore singing, dancing, eating and drinking.* They wore their local costumes, and spoke their local dialects. The whole scene was a picturesque one. Gifts were piled high about the Queen’s feet. One old peasant unexpectedly stopped in front of tfio Royal couple, opened an, old hag, and took out a large hare, which lie handed over with a, Bow to a, Court official. Tho Queen appeared thoroughly recovered. She returned the smiles | of the people and graciously waved her arm.
