BADLY SCALDED.
(By Telegraph—Press AseofNation). ROTORUA, Nov. 3. William Reynolds, aged 42, was badly scalded from falling into a hot spring at Oliinemutu on Friday evening. He was admitted to the'hospital in a critical condition. His injuries are very extensive. The victim is a brother of Teddy Reynolds, the well known champion cyclist.
TOWN PLANNING ACT
GISBORNE, Nov. 3
That the regional planning scheme under the Town Planning Act was premature, and the |expenditure of any money whatever on the proposal unwarranted, was the unanimous opinion expresesd by a conference of local body representatives. The conference was called by the Mayor to enable the scheme to be discussed and resolutions were passed approving with one exception of the boundaries proposed for Gisborne regional area, but asking that the whole question be deferred indefinitely owing to the economic conditions of the country.

Gordon DougaH Crawford, aged 23, a chemist’s assistant, who> soma months ago, claimed to have a formula and process for making motor spirit, was arrested in Sydney yesterday on a- warrant issued in Auck- ? land. It is alleged that he obtained; from an agent of the New Zealand Petrol Coy. Ltd,, the. sum of £loo' by a false pretence that he was selling to the Company a formula and a process for manufacturing motor spirit, such process and formula being valueless. The Company was formed some months ago, and for a brief period there was a boom in its shares.

BLENHEIM, November 1
The Governor-General and Lady Blediisloe arrived at Picton last night and were officially welcomed on landing from the “Dunedin.”
POLICE RIDS. AUCKLAD, Nov. 3
Thirty-five constables and five sergeants at nine o’clock on Saturday nght conducted simultaneous raids on five restaurants and bouses kept by Dalmatians, also a shop. A quantity of liquor was removed in two police vans and prosecutions are to follow.
