ROYAL WEDDING

The nuptial service in connection with the wedding of King Boris and Queen Gilovaiuia, of Bulgaria, was celebrated at the Alexander-isevsky Cathedral in Sofia, The wedding procession entered the church between a double now of troops. Queen Giova.nn.ti was wearing ft-simply-made white dress, with no train, and with a. short tulle veil, She also wore a ma.ngiiicent diadem of diamonds, rubies and emeralds, representing the Bulgarian colours, and belonging to the King Boris’s mother. The diadem is the gift of King Ferdinand of Bulgaria.
Their Majesties both approached the altar, pasing over beautiful carpets, which wore strewn with flower petals. The President of the Holy Synod, who was accompanied by lour Archbishops, received and welcomed the bridal pair, giving a moving address. Their Majesties performed the ancient ceremonies prescribed by the Orthodox rites, kissing the cross and gospels, arid drinking consecrated wine from the same (illl'd ice .
Tliercn fter the sOVci’c&itjjJHS were cnthroned, and they received the congratulations of a great assembly. King Boris has granted an amnesty of fifteen hundred prisoners on the occasion of his wedding.

LONDON, October 31, An Addis A balm message states that the Duke of Gloucester, on behalf of King George lias presented a gold sceptre to Emperor Rastafari, of Abyssinia, and an ivory sceptre to the Em pi ess. He also gave the Emperor the Insignia of the Victoria Order, and offered King George’s congratulations on the Emperor’s accession, and wished him. a prosperous reign.
The Emperor and Empress received the Duke of Gloucester seated on 'gilded thrones in the great crimson curtained hall of the Palace.
