THOUGHTS FOR THE TIMES.

A POLITICAL GAMBLE. The 'only conclusion that can he drawn from the election results is that the working classes in New -South’ Wales, frightened by the hard times now upon them, and fully apprised that conditions will be worse before they /become better, decided, in true Australian fashion, to make a desperate gamble. Against all advice, and in direct defiance of the good example set by the Federal Labour Government, they have put their all on Mr Lang. The unfortunate part of r the gamble is that hot only the people of New South Wales, but the people of tins entire Commonwealth 1 , stand to lose heavily. —Otago Times.;
