“UNDER A TEXAS MOON,’’ FIRST 100 PER CENT TALKING, SINGING OUTDOOR PICTURE IN NATURAL COLOUR.
The amazing popularity of books by Zane Gray, Peter B. Kyne, Jean Stratton Porter and others, who portray the life of the great, .outdoors is an explanation of the with which the American Theatregoing public receives talking pictures taken in the Cjpen, and pictures nature’s stories in natural colour photography. This is aptly demonstrated in “Under a Texas Moon,” Warner Brothers first 100 per cent singing, talking outdoor picture in technicolour which is showing nOw at the Princess Theatre. Here ,a fast moving, romantic story of a Don Jnan of pioneer days along the Mexican (border, ip immeasurably enhanced in beauty and interest because of the perfection of the reproduction of every hue and all in the pastel softness so -restful to the eye. The beauty spots of the world have hitherto had their lights hidden under a bushel because no black and white photography could catch the multiple shades and tints used so lavishly by nature. In :the technicolour process however, all these are preserved on the screen and the realism is improved, the; Steftic '..locations are made more valuable to the story and “Under a Texas Moon,” for example, becomes a thing of beauty to the eye as well ni? to the ear. Frank Fay as the gun-toting, love-making, fireeating Don Carlos has one of the most interesting parts of the season and supporting him is a cast including Raquel Torres, Noah Beery, Fred Kohler, Myrna Loy, George Stone, Armida, Mona Maris, Tullv Marshall, George Cooper and many others. >lichael Curtiz directed.
