ADDINGTON STOCK SALE.

CHRISTCHURCH, Oct. 29. Beef—-There were 400 fat cattle yarded, including consignments from the North Island. Prices were slightly firmer. Competition was good. The quality was mixed. Steers sold extra £2O to £23 12s 6d, prime £l7 10s to £l9 15s, medium £ls to £l6 15s, light £l3 10s to £l4 10s, cows and hei ers, extra to £2l 12s 6d, prime £ll 10s to £l6 10s, medium £9 to £1 Is ss, light £7 to £8 15s.
Mutton—There were 5000 fat sheep yarded, mostly ewes, mainly medium and light. The market was firm at prices a shade easier. The North Island, Southland, the Chathams and the West Coast were represented. Wethers sold—Extra to 36s 4d, prime 29s to 335, medium 27s to 28s 6d, light 20;s 6d to 26s fid, ewes extra to 31s Id,' prime 25s to 28s fid, medium 19s fid to 24s fid, light 16s 6d to 18s fid. shorn wethers to 29s 1. ewes 24s 4d. Eat Lambs—There were 500 yarded. The quality was mixed. Prices were easier. The best sold to 33s 7d. good 27s fid to 29s fid. medium 24s„to 275. others 19s to 23s fid.
Store Sheep—There were 3900 yarded, mostly unattractive aged ewes and lambs. The sale was dragging and irregular. Ewes and lambs sold: Best 12s lid to 14s 7d, medium 11s fid to 12s 4d, inferior os to 9s 2d. Clmtlmm Island shorn wethers sold 12s 9d to 16s fid; three-quarter bred wether hoggets 15s; mixed sex hoggets 11s; halfbred wethers 12s 3d; three-quarter bred ewe hoggets 18s 9d. A qunrter good bred line was passed at 21s 9d. Small ewe hoggets sold 11s Id to Ifis fid; 4 to fi tooth half-bred wethers 14s 3d to 16s 9d; dry ewes 5s to Bs. Pigs—There was a mednim yarding of pork and small bacon. Prices wcron a par with last week. The demand was fair. Pork sold from 47s fid to 55s fid ; heavy to £4 13s fid ; average fid per lb. Choppers sold £3 to £7 Is.
