LONDON, Oct/ 29. The swimmer, Mercedes Gleitze sails for New Zealand by the Corin-t-liic on 7th November. NEW ZEALAND BUTTER. (Received this dav at 9. a.m.) LONDON, Oct. 29. Sandercock, * Director ■of Treitgrousu and Nathan, one of the largest provision merchants, giving evidence at tiie . biltter enquiry, cabled yesterday, denied, that' the flavour of New Zealand ’“straight” ' butter Vasr inferior to blended. He added that the. New Zealander was a-sportsmaii who wanted to back his own house and felt an elementary right in putting his goods on the market for a. test on merit and quality,'which; wa,s denied him. New Zealand 'butter was never sold to the public as such. It was sold simply as pure butter, for which the retailer got a higher price. Without marking an order there would bo no incentive to sell as New Zealand butter.
