Umifuial circumstances surrounded a case being heard 'before Justice Reed a.t the Supreme Court, in which Peter Olan Pedersen, 'by occupation a fanner, of Takapiiu, proceeded against Barraud and Abraham, Ltd., for the recovery of £563. It was aJleged Unit plaintiff’s son, aged eleven, was knocked down by a car driven bv an employee of the defendant firm, and that plaintiff’s wife who witnessed the accident received such a shock that she died some months later.

Plaintiff claimed for hospital, medical and funeral expenses and also general damages for the loss of his wife.
