INDUSTRIAL TARIFFS. COMMITTEES APPOINTED. (Official Wireless). RUGBY, October 23. The president of the Federation of 1 British Industries has set up two committees, one of which will consider the type of tariff which can best meet the requirements of British industry, and the best methods of dealing with reciprical trade agreements with the dominions. The second committee will enunciate a complete industrial policy.

POLITICAL APPOINTMENT. RUGBY, October 23. Following the resignation of Mr Ah fred Ba v nes, M.P., Mr Ernest Thnrtle, M.P.. has been appointed a Junior Lord of the Treasury, unpaid. The Junior Lords of the Treasury are accordingly as follows:—Messrs J. A. Parkinson, C. Edwards, W, Whiteley, Paling and E. Thurtle, the last two being unpaid.
