BIG. PROTEST . MEETING. (United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph,—Copyright.) NEAV YORK, Oct. ‘23. The American Palestine Jewish Legion to-dav cabled Lord Allenby “in the name of five thousand Jewish soldiers,” recalling their services, and appealing to him to “prevail upon his follow British citizens to resist this latest attempt to impugn British honour.” There is a large Zionist meeting, of protest being planned to be* hold in the Madison Square Garden at Now York on November 2nd. Doctor Cyrus Atlle. who is one of the moist distinguished figures in American Jewry, warned his co-relig-ionisists to-day against any anti-Brit-ish fording. Hie says: “Politicians come and politicians go,. but the spirit of a nation lives for ever. The British people can he trusted, , in the long run, to carry out their obligations.’’ U.S.A. KEEPING CLEAR. NEW YORK, Oct. 23. The “New York Time’s” Washington correspondent states that although the State Department has declined to comment on the Palestine situation, the present indications are that it will follow, a “hands off” policy.
