A NARROW ESCAPE.
HAWERA, October 24;T A remarkable escape from possible death was experienced ;at eleven .this morfning by William Greig, when brewery motor lorry, he,. wq9 .driving was struck by the engine of the coming passenger train on Tawbiti ; road level crossing close to Hawera station. The cowcatcher caught the rear portion of the lorry, turning it sidewards and hurling it. over, the. cattle, stop, ,to crash on its .side several yards up the > line. Greig was uninjured except for a. slight cut on the face, and crawled out unaided from the* wreckage of the lorry cab. . • ■ . • • ■ ,
