ADDINGTON STOCK SALE. ißy Telegraph—Press Association )• CHRISTCHURCH, October 22. Beef :—There were 430. fat cattle yarded. The quality was good. Half the yarding- came from the North Island or Southland. Prices were .slightly easier. Steers sold:—Extra £2l 12s. 6d to £26 2s 6d, heavy £2O to £2l 17s Gd, medium, £l6 to £l9 10s, light £l3 10s to £ls; cows and heifers, extra £l4 to £lB 17s Gd, good £l2 10s to £l4 10s medium £lO 10s to £l2 ss; others .£8 to £9 10s.
Mutton:—There were 3980 fat sheep yarded. The market was a shade, firmer. There was a fair proportion of, shorn sheep yarded. Wethers sold :. Extra to 37s 7d, prime 30s Gd to 34s 7d medium 28s to 29s Gd, light 25s Gd to 275, plain 22s to 255, shorn to 28s 4d, ewes, extra 30,5, prime 25s to 27s Id, medium 22s to 24s 6d, light 19s to 21s. Spring Lambs:—There were 183 yarded. The sale was firm at late rates. ,The best sold to 37s yd, good 32s (id and 35s 7d, others 25s to 31 6d. Store .sheep :—There were 2,350 yarded, mainly inferior and backward. There was a small attendance. Bidding was slow. Ewes and lambs sold : Good 12s 7cl to 14s, medium 9s 7d to 11s lOd, inferior down to Gs. Wethers shorn sold 14s, three-quarter bred 235, half-bred 19s, small 16s. Ewe hoggets sold 22s 3d,s liorn wethers 11$ 10c! and 9s.
There was a jnedium entry of pork and bacon. Prices were easier by 5s to 7s pei- head, and competition was 'dragging. Porkers sold 48s Gd to 56s 6d, heavy 58s 6d to £3 7s Gd; average * price BJ-d per lb. Bacon sold £3 9s 6d •to £4 5s heavy to £4 14s Gd; average; pfuee 6i,d per lb.
