EFFECTS OF DEPRESSION.

The Directors of the “Herald and Weekly Times” report the net profit for the past year was £183,578, compared with £20(5,837 for the previous vear. Advertising revenues were seriously affected by the depression. The total distribution of dividend during the year amounted to £164,491. BRITISH EMIGRANTS. ADELAIDE, October 21. An organisation has been formed here to secure the repatriation to Britain of those migrants desiring to return. A petition is being forwarded to the King. It is hoped the organisation will spread throughout Australia. DAIRYING INTERESTS. (Received this day at 8 a.m.) SYDNEY, Oct. 22. Dynes, Fulton and W. GoodteHow, of New Zealand Co-operative Dairy Coy. attended an important meeting a.t Brisbane, where they stressed the need for greater co-operation in maiketlng dairy produce in the United Kingdom. It Was pointed out that New Zealand, Australia and Argentina have an additional twenty-five thousand tons of butter available foi export during the coining season. Low prices are inevitable, consequently competition should be kept down to a minimum by co-operative efforts. Fulton and Goodfellow subsequently visited and inspected Richmond River dairying district. They were much impressed by the fertility of the land und paucity of milking machines.
COLD BONUS PREMATURE
SYDNEY, 'October 21
The Acting Prime .Minister, Mr Fenton declares the announcement that the Government was providing a gold bonus, cabled yesterday, is premature. The matter is still under consideration.
