Colonel Hoppe>, a famous French air ace, who in the war was nicknamed “The Corsair of the Air” by the Germans, who put a price of two thousand pounds sterling on his head, jowing to his bombing the German communications in the- Belford area, was killed to-day, with a mechanic, following on a wing breaking off their plane in mid air.
