Australian Commission-er-General in United States, called upon Mr Stimson (United States Secretary) " and expressed the Australian Government’s protest against the acceptance by the American authorities of Soviet Russia’s . inspection of certificates on sausage casings, whereas, the Australian and the New Zealand sausage casings were acceptable, only upon proper certification. It works a hardship upon the Australion exporters to have the American, Government- accept the Russian movement’s certificate, although not recognising the Russian Government itself. Mr Brookes also received Mr Stimson’s assurance that he would give personal attention to the matter.
