ARBITRATION COURT

SITTING AT GREYMOUTII. GREY-MOUTH, October 21. A sitting of the Arbitration Court was held at Greymputh yesterday. Mr •Justice Frazer presided, and with h.m were Messrs W. Cecil Prime, employers’ representative, and A. L. Monieitii workers’ representative. John ALcFarlane, miner, of Brunnurton, claimed compensation from the Grey Valley Collieries, Ltd. Plaintiff was represented by Mr P. J- OT’ogaii, and defendants by Mr F. A. Kitcliingham. The statement of claim set out that on July 2, 1929, while employed in tin mine, plaintiff was struck on the head by a heavy cross-bar, which fractured his skull ; that his average weekly earnings exceeded £6; and that defendants had paid £IBO in compensation. He claimed a weekly payment of £4 to the date of trial, such further lump sum as may be reasonable, and costs. The Chart awarded MeFarlane a total of £169 5s 9d plus £l, medical fees
