THE AIRSHIP DISASTER. DEATH OF MR CHURCH. PARIS, October 8. In connection with the death in the Beauvais Hospital of Mr S. Church, who had survived the RlOl disaster, a poignant touch was added to the scene when his • finaniee,. his father, and his brother arrived shortly after be had passed away to-day. Nurses and doctors had fought hard all day yesterday to save Church. A telegram was sent to his father, the postmaster at Cardingtoii, stating that hi s son was not expected to live another day. The father and brother hastily summoned Mr Church’s finaneee, a Bedford girl, and they left for Croydon in a special aeroplane, intending to continue the flight to Beauois.

Jn the meantime a most severe gale had sprung up, compelling ‘the most powerful aeroplanes to remain in the hangers. The party immediately hurried to Dover, crossing the Channel in the teeth of the gale, only to arrive too late.
