The governments of the City and County of Los Angeles haA r e just awarded the contract for final improvement to Olympic Stadium, in preparation for the Games of the Xth Olympiad to be celebrated here from July 3D to August 14, 1932. Improvements now being made infronf'7s,ooo to 105,000 numbered seats; the 'construction, of a promenade entirely around the Stadium; the installation of- offices for committees, officials and juries, and the construction of adequate facilities for the Avorld press and the sports technical department.

In. . Olympic ; Stadium will he held the athletic events (track and field), gymnastics, horse jumping events, field * hockey, opening and closing ceremonies, and the marathon and road cycling races will end there. All facilities in the Stadium, for the holding of these events will be completed one year before the opening ceremonies. f The track is being improved and will be seasoned before the coming Olympicl Games. The playing field, inside th,e track, is of sufficient size to permit, the playing of football, hockey aniji similar games. plymp'c Stadium is located 1 in Olympic Park with the Fine Arts Museum, swimming r + adium a.nd the fencing pavilion. Olympic Park is near the centre of the business district of Los, Angeles and is accessible, from all parts of...the city. Olympic Stadium was built in 1923, the year in which the Games of the Xtli Olympiad were awarded to- Los Angeles. In it have been held many outstanding athletic events in which many of the world’s leading athletes have participated.
