ARAHURA TENNIS CLUB

ANNUAL MEETING. The annual meeting of the above Club took place in Toker’s Hall last evening at 8 p.m. Air Stafford presided oyer an enthusla&tic attendance. i

When the minutes of the annual meeting for the previous year had been read and confirmed the President sub mitted the balance sheet, which in view of circumstances, showed a very satisfactory position.. The President stressed the fact that the season just past had been one fraught with innumerable difficulties but that these had now been suecessully surmounted. The present position indicates that the ensuing season would be a most pleasant one and that the Club would Ibe on a very sound footing indeed. The Court itself is in splendid order and considerable attention has been paid to its surroundings, with the result that they now present a very attractive appearance.

The report and balance sheet were then, read and adopted.

ELECTION OF OFFICERS. The election of officers for the coming season resulted as follows:—President: Mr J. C. Stafford; Patron: Mr E. Ward; Vice Presidents: Messrs. Toker Bros., McGuigan Bros., E. Mitchell, J. Havill, B. C. Finch, S. Honey f H. Kortgast, Tira; Chib Captain: Mr M. Mandl; Secretary-Treasurer: Miss M. a. Toker; Committee: Misses M. McMahon, C. A. Toker, Messrs W. Smyth, A. Martin and M. Mandl. The subscription was fixed at 10s for senior members (if paid within one month from the date of election as member) and 2s 6d for junior members. The age limit for junior members is 15 years. The active membership list was limited to 35 members. The opening day was fixed for Saturday November Ist. and a cordial invitation is extended to the members of all other clubs to be present. Various ir.cidentinl business was dealt with and a very successful meeting finally closed with a hearty vote of thanks to the Chair.
