BAN OF EDWARDS. (By Telegraph—Per Press Association.) AVEiLLING TON, October 15. It is understood that subsequent to ” the Wrestling Union’s decision to adandon the Kara Pasha—Edwards i match, the police expressed their in- . j tention of refusing a permit for the / match. The Mayor, Air Troup, also, indicated that the Town Hall not be available for any match in which Edwards was engaged.
DANGER OF FOUL PLAY. WELLINGTON, October 15. The President of the AVellingtor* Wrestling Association' (Air Bennett) stated to-day that he had .called- a special meeting of the Association today, when it was decided to (abandon the match between Edwards and Kara Pasha, billed for next Saturday afternoon, He said that the local promoting body was particularly anxious to prevent The game from drifting into the kind apparently most acceptable to patrons in other countries. Referring to the match between Edwards and Alley here last evening, he said a special referee had been engaged and given instructions not to allow rough tactics and to disqualify either wrestler for any breach. These instructions were carried out, and the. matched ended abruptly as the result.
