BANKRUPTCY
OF SCHOOL PRINCIPAL. AY ELLINGTON, October 15. A meeting of the creditors in the bankrupt estate of Agnes AYard, the Principal of the Chilton House School, was held to-day. The statement i accounts showed the following: Unse- • tired creditors, £BBI 16s lid; secured creditors. £10,655; estimated value of securities. £11,720.
The list, of guarantors included a number of oromment citizens. The amount guaranteed was £4,450. Tlie . bankrupt’s sworn statement traversed some involved business transactions in connection with bankrupt’s purchase and carrying on of the school, and a shift from The Terrace to Island Bay. A motion was submitted that the case should he placed in the hands of the Crown . Solicitor to see if steps should he taken under the Bankruptcy Act, blit this was negatived. The Official Assignee, said that it was his duty to place the circumstances before the Crown Solicitor if he considered the circumstances warranted such a course.
