YOUNG AVIATORS. KILLED IN WESTRALIA. (Australian Press Association.) PERTH, October 14. A Puss Moth aeroplane, piloted by Captain Nesbitt, aged 33 years, and carrying two flying pupils, William Bell, aged 23, and Miss Haidee Rae, aged 34, set out for Northam yesterday, and it was later posted as missing. A search to-day by other aeroplanes resulted in the missing machine being located near York. It was smashed to pieces, and nosedown in mud. All three occupants were dead. SHEARERS’ PAY.
WESTRALIAN TROUBLE
(Received this day at 9.40 a.m.) PERTH, October 14
Arising out of the recent clash between some striking shearers and those ivilling to work under Judge Dethridge’s award, David Maskie, a shearer was sentenced to seven days imprisonment for assault he having kicked a victim while on the ground. Polioe have been despatched to various shed s by aeroplane, and the situation is now believed to be under control. A conciliation Commission, appointed under the amended Arbitration Act, is hearing; evidence into the shearing dispute.
