MISHAP TO MOTOR,. Running hack over a steep bank on the I^yttelton side of Evans Pass while the owner was mending a puncture, an Austin motor car. a 7 h.p. saloon model, was considerably damaged early on Wednesday evening. Mr J. N. Scott, of 45 Bishop,Street, the owner, had the car jacked up at the time. A companion stood on the .side of the oar to release the hand brake so that the wheel could be turned round. This Avas being done Avhen the ear moved off the jack and commenced to run back. Mr Scott just had time to pull his friend clear before the car toppled over the bank and dropped a considerable distance into a gully. A motor ambulance was brought on the scene and much difficulty was experienced in recovering the car.
