MAN’S ESCAPADE
ON TOP OF BUILDING

WELLINGTON, October 13,
Brandishing pieces' of- wood and threatening to attack anyone who interfered with him, a man standing on the roof of a two storey house in Pirie Street, attracted considerable attention (before he was captured by Constable O’Boyle. A- large crowd gathered in the vicinity. Some concern was felt for the man’s safety when he was first noticed and the police were communicated with. The constable climbed the gutter spouting and intercepted the man in a dangerous position at tlie side of the house and closed in on him. When the. man was handcuffed, his legs were tied with a rope and he was lowered down the side of the house into a yard. He was finally conveyed away.
