CHRISTCHURCH, Oct. 18.

Three youths- Were arrested last evening by two constables under dramatic circumstances, Six -motor cars and two motor cyclop are said to have been taken during; the week and in consequence the police had adopted special precautions. Their vigilance was rewarded last evening., when a constable saw two of the missing cars, in High Street and gave chase and arrested three youths, who were charged to-day with converting Dvo cars to their own use. Two of the accused pleaded guilty. All were remanded to appear at the Children’s Court. CO-OPERATIVE MARKETING. AUCKLAND, October 11. Farmers throughout the Auckland province are interesting themselves in an endeavour being made to arrange a conference in New Zealand between co-operative distributing organisations in Britain and co-operative producers in New Zealand.

The President of the Auckland Farmers’ Union (Mr Ross) said to-day the idea was to get organisations such as co-operative dairy companies into direct touch with the co-operative wholesale people in Britain. Some* scheme might then be evolved that would eliminate the middle men engaged in doing the export business.
