CYCLE RACE
AUCKLANDERS WIN. (By Telegraph—Per Press Association.; WELLINGTON, Oct. 12. Two Auckland cyclists, H. •RDwight and C. A. Clarke, put up a distinguished performance in Palmerston North-WeLlington road race held oil Saturday by the Port Nicholson Amateur Road Cycling Cllub (Inc.), affiliated to the New Zealand Union of Cyclists. Both rode magnificently nnd more or less outclassed the rest of the field. Together they made a fine showing. Clarke was the winner and Dwight came second, talcing the fastest honours, with Clarke runner-up. The placingp and riding times ol the first four are as follows: C. A. Clarke (20inins) 6hrs smins 38soes ... v 1 H. DAvight (sc-r) shrs 50m ina 46 sees ... ... 2 C. Tasker (20mins) 6brs limine 15 secs -'Mi. ... 3 R. Black (35m ins) fihrs 42 mi ns 16 secs ... J The fastest times were those of Dwight, Clarke, Tasker and Bray (ser). The last-named took 6hrs 16 mins JMseas.
