THE LAMBETH TRADITION. “It is a . tradition of the Lambeth Conference to sacrifice almost anything to secure ' , unanimity or sometimes savour more of Christian love than of Christian courage. This year especially, not;'a few of us felt that our grasp of certain facts in the world situation was weakened by a too sensitive consciousness of difficulties peculiar to our church. Even so, the sacrifice involved itself represents a kind of covirage; and its reward is a strengthening of internal fellowship where many feared an .open breach.. Over and over again ye suddenly emerged from some apparently hopeless impasse to register all but unanimous consent, And that means something in an age which is itself so largely at sixes and sevens, That in itself gives our church a better title to try to lead -this curious, drifting modern world.”—Bishop of Ilipon, in the “Yorkshire Post.” . •
