TRENTHAM ASSOCIATION AWARDS. ■

At the animal meeting of the Executive of the Trentham Scholarship, War Fund Assooiatiofi, Mr S. Kirkoldie presided, there being also present General Young, Colonel Avery, Major Forgie, Sir A, Roberta, Mr T, B. Sifcrdng . <Director of Education), and Mr F Meauo'v croft, The tenth annual report stated that applications for 818 imwaries hau been received, as compared with 303 for the previous; year, ,Tlio following-awards were mode:— Renewals 196. at cost of £3692 10s; new awards, 88, £1575 j declined, 35 : total 818, £6967 10s. The following is the classified statement of xwaids made: Cl use, I. (to the children of deceased men) 214, £4232 lite; Class 11. (to children of partially or wholly disabled men), 61 ( £990; Class 111. .to children of men who served overs'-aB), 3, £45; grand total, 278, £55,207 10s, average award, £lB Ids. }
Since the inception of the fund, The sum of £35,943 16s has been paid to tne bursar*:, i ©presenting 1614 bursaries awarded, and affecting 6i)5 children. On tlie average, each »t’ 635 children ba« Ibenefitoci to I hw ox tent of £SB 8s 6d.
