The “Daily Mail” states that the Cabinet, by a majority of the Ministers, led by Air Philip Snowden, has decided to reject Mr Bennett’s proposal of a 10 per cent, mutual preference, and it will introduce counter proposals. “There is no doubt whatever Government will refuse the Canadian Prime Minister, Mr Bennett’s plan,” says the Daily Herald’s political correspondent. “It is clear that these posals should only be possible it food and raw materials were taxed. The Government believes that programme of economic co-operation within the Empire can he evolved apart from tariffs.”
