Again to-day, despite nor-west conditions the Public Works Engineers report no rain at Lake Coleridge, where the level is 1658 feet, instead of 1672 feet normal. PILOT’iS LICENSE. BLENHEIM, Oct.' 7. Mr P R. Dix has secured a B. pilot’s license. This is the first civil trained pilot to secure such a license. He pleaded guilty. It was shown that accused was a night roamer, the articles being mostly stolen during the hours of darkness. Williamson. * She leaves a girl aged 11 and a boy aged 9. HOMESTEAD BURNT. GISBORNE, October 7. A seven roomed homestead, owned and occupied by Edgar Knight in Patoitaki, was completely destroyed by Are last evening. The whole of the contents were lost but the outbuildings escaped the flames. The house was insured for £750 and the contents for £250 in the New Zealand Office.
