REVOLUTION OUTBREAK
MARTIAL LAW DECLARED. (United Press Association—By Electric Telegr a ph.—Copy r i gh t.) (Received this dav at 9.30 a.m.) RIO DE JANIERO, October 6. Owing to the gravity of the situation brought about by a revolt to the southward, President Washington Luis today declared martial law throughout Brazil until the" end of the year. The Government on Saturday declared a state of «eige in the States of Rio Grand, De Sul, and Minal Gerais, where the revolutions originated. All banks were closed to-day by order of the Government until further notice in order to avoid speculation in the exchange. The Government ,has suspended all the air mail services out of the country on the .Pan-American, Condor and French Aero postal lines. WASHINGTON, October 6.
Unofficial, but authorative reports received here to-day, stated the revolution had broken out in Para (Brazil), many miles north of the previously reported activity.
