SOUTHLAND PROJECT. <,By Telegraph—Per Press Association.' INVERCARGILL, October 3. A scheme for the establishment of Southland Farmers’ Institute for the collection and dissimina.tion of agricultural knowledge has been evolved bv Mr A. Napper, of Woodlands, and, providing sufficient support is forthcoming from the farming: community, steps will be taken alnmst immediately to bring the new organisation into existence. Mr Napper has already received indications .of approval from many farmers in Southland, while agricultural and scientific experts, in various parts of the Dominion have expressed their willingness to assist. Mr Napper states that the function of the institute will be to gather all the information available, concerning animal plant, and. soil nutrition, direct local experiments, and pre par data and advice for the benefit of farmers and suit local conditions.
