The London and New Zealand Bank Limited Amendment Bill, was reported from the Committee of Selection without amendment. The National Art Gallery and Dominion Museum Bill, and Births, Deatiis, and Registration Amendment Bill were referred to the Statutes Revision Committeee. The New Zealand Institute Amendment Bill and Incorporated Societies Amendment Bill were read a second time. The Council adjourned at 3.20 p.m. THE HOUSE. WELLINGTON, October 2. The Native Land Amendment Bill and Native Land Claims Adjustment, (Native Washing up) Bill was introduced by the Governor-General’s message and read a first time.

At,Hon Ngata’s request, the Bill was read a second time pro forma, and referred to the Statutes Revision Committee.

The Amendments made in the Legislative Council to Magistrates Courts Amendment Bill (Mr Mason) were agreed to. , The Rating Amendment Bill (Mr Mason) and the Local Elections and Polls Amendment Bill (Mr Mason) were put through the remaining stages and passed.

The Companies Amendment. Bill (Mr Barnard) was -read a second time pro forma, and referred to the Statutes Revision Committee. The House rose at midnight.
