WOOL FEDERATION

BULK PURCHASE OF WOOL.

(United Press Association—By Electrn Telegraph—Copyright).

(Received 11.40 a.m.) LONDON, October 1. Mr Whitaker, president of the British Wool Federation, interviewed said:—The suggestion for the hulk purchase of wool was more political than practical. The difficulties of adopting such a scheme on sound lines appeared to increase as more closely examined. The first stumbling block is the price factor. The British Government woud not take any steps without consulting consuming interests, and as approahees have not been made, it appears the subject was not regarded as a serious proposition.
