GAS COOKING DEMONSTRATIONS

SUCCESSFUL SEASON.

At the Soldiers’ Hall yesterday afternoon, the gas cooking demonstrations which have been conducted over the winter season under the auspices of the Hokitika Gas Coy., were brought to a successful close. A pleasing function was arranged for the occasion, and the directors and staff of the Gas Company were invited to be present for afternoon tea. Mrs G. Heinz, who has carried through- the season’s demonstrations, had prepared a special display of confections, while scones, waffles and other dainties were prepared in the room prior to the tea being served. The ladies helping. Mrs Heinz had a very tasteful spread set out, and about 50 people sat down to the. good things all of which were cooked by gas.

Mr D. J. Evans, Chairman of Directors, was asked to take the chair, find there were present Messrs* W. Wilson, and S. J. Preston, co-directors, Mr JPark, Company solicitor, Mr G.
