The International Billiard Tourney was opened at Thurstons by Lord Lonsdale, who paid a tribute to Lindrum’s prowess. He describes bin. as a unique Australian, conceding seven thousand, whereas in- other days two thousand would have been regarded as an enormous handicap.
As though .slightly awed by the occasion, the players were sometime 1 in settling down, especially Lindrum who firstly failed iff a number of shots which would have presented small difficulty to an .amateur.- His' gossamer .touch in close cannons was noticeably absent but be improved later with a break of two hundred; The' pace of the table appeared to worry both players.
