The attitude of Bernard Shaw towards titles is conveyed in his Secretary’s reply to a Scottish correspondent who wrote saying that Scotland, England and Ireland would welcome with .enthusiasm Royal recognition. Shaw replied that lie has no reason to complain at a lack of recognition. He 'has been ,sounded thereon and definitely refused to bear any other title than the name, with which hi* work was associated. CRIME OUTBREAK. PARIS TAXI DRIVERS SUFFER. ■ (Received 11.15 a.m.) I’ARIS, Sept. 29. An amazing outbreak or crime against taxi drivers renders the occupation one of the most hazardous. There has been one or two more eases to-day, where drivers have been held up on. lonely • roads// after "j engaging, cabs. The attacks coincide with a regular crime wave in the capital. A proposal is on foot to alloiv taxidrivers to be armed.
