Her passengers from New Zealand included the party which is to observe the eclipse. N.Z. EXCHANGE RATES. LONDON, September 27. Hon. G. W. Forbes, N.Z. Prime Minister, lias been discussing the questibn of the New Zealand Exchange rates, which are the same as the Australian rates, though New Zealand has no adverse balance of trade. He said that the .banks apparently, found great difficulty in differentiating between the two countries’ rates owing to the close financial relations between New Zealand and Australia.

The Toronto Star publishes a Montreal despatch in which IVf.. Tascherlean is quoted as saying that a merger of the Abitibi Canada power and paper company and the St. Lawrence and Anglo Canadian Newsprint Company “Is largely affected.”
