The French Air Minister, M. Lnurenteynac, reveals that the 1931 budget' of France will provide for a preliminary investigation into the possibilities of anchoring seadromes in tiie Atlantic Ocean for the use of regular .trails-Atlantic aeroplanes. MATTHEWS CRASHES. PLANE DAMAGED. , ,|, ■ v ' RANGUON, September 27. , Information has been received ti nt Captain Matthews, when en route to Bangkok, made a forced landing last might one hundred miles from Bangkok. Details are lacking, but it is understood that the aviator is unhurt. BANGKOK, September 28. Captain Matthews was forced down at : Banmee, 160 kilometres north of Donmuang. The propellor of liis machine and one wing were broken. The tail of the machine Was also dam- : aged. He has a spare propellor. The Minister of War has sent from Donmuang a number of men to assist the aviator, It is hoped that repairs :will be effected in a few days. FLIGHT TO TOKIO. MRS BRUCE’S NARROW ESCAPE. VIENNA, Sept. 25. t Mrs Bruce arrived from Munich in f terrible weather. She had to fly over ■ hills in which she appeared to be hopelessly lost.
