In the Legislative Council the Unemployment Bill was put'through all i/he remaining stages and passed. The Council rose at 4.40 p.iff. till Tuesday. - . I ' THE HOUSE. V In the House of. Representatives the following estimates were passed:— Prisons Department £90,000. Police Department £450,000. Pensions Department. £165,000. Mr Parry moved an amendment that the vote for the Pensions Department be reduced by £1 a s an indication that old age pensions" and pensions for blind should be increased. The Minister stated it was impossible at the present time to bear additional expense that this would involve. The amendment was defeated on division of 40 to 20.. ' A vote of £275,000 for the Defence Department was under- consideration when the House rose at 5.30 p.m. till 2.80 p.m. on Monday, ‘’f • . 'A
