The annual gathering of some 500 natives at Tekoura Pa at present has taken on a jioliticsal aspec't in vipw ot the; Western 1 Maori by-election. They .are V mostly supporters of the Reform ’clinfidate, Taite Te Tomo and influential’ natives present include the-Mkori King, Te Rata, the 'Maori Princess and Taite Te Tomo. - ‘• •'
Yesterday Mr J.' G. Contes spent the day at the Pa tend addressed the natives in Reform interests.
TAXI KILLS WOMAN
AUCKLAND, September 25
Fatal injuries were received by an elderly woman, Mrs Mary Laing, of 16, Uicton Street, Ponsonby, as the result of being knocked down by a taxi in Khyber Pass about 10.45 to-night. -
