SOUTH AFRICAN VETERANS
; Bv Telegraph—Press Association)
WELLINGTON, This Day
South African Veterans Conference was opened to-day by the Minister of Defence who said he had gone into the matter of the granting of pensions before the age of 65, if a disability occurred. but it was hardly possible to do it. Just at present it would mean 78 men coming on the pensions scheme and more later on. lliere was a danger that the alteration of the pension age from 65 to 60 would form an attractive election cry and its effects would go further. The conference is proceeding, Captain J. Clark, presiding.
