AUCKLAND, Sept. 22,

Two professional wrestling contests were 'staged at Auckland this evening. One of these was at His Majesty’s Theatre, where Ted Thye defeated Kara Pasha, the Turk, by two Tails to one, the bout reaching the,, fifth round. ■

Thye was much too good for ..Kara Pasha, and therefore the exhibition, was not an interesting one, with the exception of a few moments. Thye secured the first fall two minutes after the opening of the bout, with a head scissors. Pasha’s fall was a submission one, gained with the “Boston Crab” in the fourth round.

Thye won Avith a body press in the fifth.

Kara Pasha refused to shake hands. He tried vainly to . argue with the crowd, which hooted his lack of sportsmanship. The contest Avas staged under the control of. the Ex-Ser-vit'femen’s Wrestling Union. Thye, Avho arrived by the Niagara in company with Lurich, of Russia, wrestled to-night under the Ex-Ser-vicemen’s Union, but there As a probability that he may, in the near future meet men who are under engagement to the NeAv Zealand Wrestling Association.

WELLINGTON, September 22. Tom Stecher (12.7) met Walter Logan (13.0) in a professional match to-night, and he won in the fifth round by two straight falls. Up to the fourth round, no falls were registered. As the fourth round went on, Logan began the offensive with chancery holds and hcadlocks, which led to signs of grogginess on the part of Steelier. Most of the crowd thought that a fall was imminent. From the mat, however, Logan allowed himself to be trapped in the figure four body scissors. He stood up with . it,... .and Stecher was applying it perfectly, in exactly the same manner at his heavyweight brother, Joe Steelier. They fell down backward, and Stecher attempted to pin him with a face" bar, Logan stood up three times, still well caught in the figure four! He fell j heavily each time, and he was finally pinned. Logan was in severe trouble at the interval, and he came out in pain for the fifth round. Stecher then made short work of him.

The match was watched by another full Town Hall.
