Mr Schmitt, the New Zealand Trade Commissioner in Australia, presided to-day at a largely attended reception in honour of the Dominion Day. Representatives of the Federal and the State Governments, a ! «o ol the Foreign diplomatic attended services. The Lord Mayor of Sydney, nnd. the business and professional interests were also present. They felicitated New Zealand on her evident, commercial soundness, in the absence of any internal unrest, and on the hooured place that (die holds in the counsels of the Empire.
