A Congressional Commission on Saturday completed the Honolulu hearings on, the question of “Government for American Samoa.” Tlie American and Samoan witnesses nearly all favoured more voice for the Samoans in the . Government of the territory under American supervision. Tlie anthropologist, Air Stokes, of the Bishop Aluseum, urged dominion status for American Samoa, with the exclusion of the tourists from the franchise. A group of Samoan Chiefs suggested that the civil Governor oe appointed by the United States President, with Samoan representation in the. American Congress, and with local legislation by a native assembly. The Commission .has proceeded to Pago Pago for twelve days investgation there.
