COLENSO’S TRIAL. \x vßy Telegraph—Press Association). CHRISTCHURCH, September 21. The case against Alfred James Stanley Colenso, who is charged with murdering Robin William Cockburn at Lake Coleridge on Septempber 3, will be proceeded with by the police ..n Tuesday. It is understood that tlie inquest will be taken concurrently with the murder charge. For the third time Colenso appeared in the dock at the Magistrate’s Court yesterday. Chief-Detective Carroll applied for a further remand till next Tuesday, and this was consented to by accused’s counsel, Alt Stacey. The proceedings lasted just one minute. Arthur Edward Farqufiarson, vsi-n was charged that on September 4, ;.t Cass he was deemed to he an idle si r(l disorderly person, then stood in the dock, and a similar remand was granted in his case.
Once again interest in 'the appearance at Court of the two men was shown bv the public. Most of ihe seating accommodation at the Kick c! the court was filled and a small crowd gathered in Armagh Street to see the departure of the police van T he van was backed into the court yard close up to the back entrance of the court.
